‘Le Trappiste...the most authentic Belgian-style beer café in the UK', (Good Beer Guide to Belgium, Sixth Edtion) has now moved to Brugge.

Set in a 13th Century cellar, with exposed vaulted brick arches, Le Trappiste has relocated to its spiritual homeland. Due to open in spring 2013, offering a carefully selected regular menu of more than 100 specialist beers, including some international offerings. With a changing selection of 10 beers on tap from InBev, Troubadour, St Feuillien, Duvel-Moortgat, Van Steenberge, complimented by two guest lines to accomodate appearances from the likes of Struise, Verzet and Den Triest.

Le Trappiste owner Martin Matthews proudly said, ''The Troubadour line will be the only permanent one in Brugge, and will be the only place to try their speciality beers, such as the current offering Troubadour Magma Sorachi Ace''. The resident lines will be complimented on tap and in bottle by micros from the UK, Scandinavia, Holland, USA and Germany, including The Kernel, Marble, Thornbridge, Nøgne Ø, Mikkeller, De Molen, Left Hand, The Bruery amongst many others. Expect to find some real rarities and a strong geuze presence, as you would expect from Le Trappiste the emphasis will be on quality highlighted by the everchanging guest board, which will strongly feature guest micros from the UK, Holland and the USA. Le Trappiste hope to be importing directly from some of their favourite micros in the UK very soon.

The bar will host regular tasting evenings and new beer promotions, expect this place to become a permanent fixture on the Brugge beer scene with locals and tourists alike.

We have planned an International beer festival prior to the wonderful Brugsbeerfest the held over the first weekend in February.
During the week of the BAB bierfestival in Brugge we will be serving 20 beers on draught, including some very rare microbrews
